September 6, 2014 - Still in Holland but leaving today
Started this post yesterday but got delayed by a huge thunderstorm and then cocktails/dinner with friends at MBYC.  It was another fantastic evening with friends, then we enjoyed a very restful night and woke to higher-than-we-would like winds.  The forecast is for calmer seas this afternoon so we are planning to leave this afternoon for South Haven and hopefully to Chicago on Sunday.  Because we are still in the familiar waters of the Great Lakes, we don't feel as though the Loop journey has begun.  We are looking forward to getting to Chicago where we will enjoy downtown for a couple of days and then begin the journey through the river system.
